Tripura Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb on Thursday met Union Human Resource Development (HRD) Minister Prakash Javadekar in New Delhi where the Union Minister assured the CM of taking steps for one-time relaxation in recruiting teachers in Tripura.

Tripura CM Deb during the meeting sought the Union HRD Minister’s early intervention in the matter.

Union Minister Javadekar assured the Tripura Chief Minister that the Union HRD Ministry was actively considering the State Government’s proposal to grant one-time relaxation in qualifying marks and exemption of professional qualification for recruiting teachers and a decision in this regard would be taken in the best interest of the state of Tripura at the earliest.

Chief Minister Deb also raised the issue for setting up of two new Kendriya Vidyalayas (KVs) in Dharamnagar and Udaipur and upgrading of one Kendriya Vidyalaya at Ambasa in Tripura. Union Minister Javadekar assured full support to the Chief Minister for setting up these KVs in the State and informed that the proposals for the same received from the State Government in this regard would be considered by the Union Government for the approval so that these KVs can initiate operating from the next academic session itself.

The Union Minister lauded the extensive efforts made by the State Government of Tripura in order to make the State into a ‘Shikshit Tripura, Shreshtha Tripura’.
