Arunachal Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Chowna Mein called on Governor BD Mishra at Raj Bhavan in Itanagar and discussed various developmental issues pertaining to the State.

The Governor, in pursuance of his oath of the office to “devote himself to the service and welfare of the people of Arunachal Pradesh” emphasized improving the education sector of the State as his top priority.

He stressed speedy collection and distribution of the textbooks among the students of the State.

The Governor advised the Deputy Chief Minister of the State to plan in advance for procurement of textbooks for the next academic session so that the needy students receive their books at the beginning of their academic session.

While appreciating Mein for facilitating in the commencement of the Sainik School by addressing the departmental land issue, the Governor requested him to look into the issue of the State Government’s commitments towards the school.

The duo also discussed about the safety of our villagers during the IAF firing in Dollungmukh IAF Range and it was emphasized that the standard operating procedure should be meticulously complied with in this year.

Various inter-state issues and matters related to aspirational Namsai district, which the Governor is scheduled to visit in the second week of this month, also came up in the discussion.

Chief Secretary Satya Gopal was also present in the meeting.
