Meghna Srivastava of Step by Step School, Sec-132, Taj Expressway Ghaziabad, topped with 499 marks. Anuoushka Chandra from SAJ School, Sec 14C, Vasundhara Ghaziabad, secured the second rank with 498 marks in the Class 12th board exam results 2018, the results of which were declared by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) on Saturday afternoon.

Seven students are tied at the third spot with 497 marks each. Of these seven – one is from Jaipur, 1 from Ludhiana, 1 from Haridwar, 1 from Noida, 1 from Meerut and 2 from Ghaziabad.

The pass percentage this year is 83. 1 per cent. It has improved by almost 1 per cent as last year recorded a pass percentage of 82.02 per cent.

Of the 15,674 students who appeared for the CBSE Class 12 exam outside India, 14,881 passed (pass percentage is 94.94%).

This year, for Class 12, 11,86,306 candidates had registered and the exams were held at 4,138 centres in India and 71 centres outside the country. The CBSE Board had conducted the Class 12 examinations 2018 from March 5 to April 13.

The exams for class 12, originally scheduled to be held between March 3 to April 13, were extended to April 25 when students were made to give a re-test for Economics paper after the Board came to know it was leaked.

This year the CBSE Class 12 examination was supposed to end by April 13 with the Physical Education Paper, but it later went on till April 27 because of the paper leak reported in various part of the country.

This year, the Board has also provide Class XII digital mark sheets in DigiLocker at – digilocker.gov.in – which can be accessed on mobile phones on Android and iOS platforms.
