Oil India Limited which has its headquarters at Duliajan in Dibrugarh district of Assam has bagged seven awards at the World HRD Congress held at Mumbai recently.

Jayanta Barua  DGM, (L&C)  said that these acknowledged OIL’s learning and development initiatives for the quality and uniqueness of its employee engagement interventions driven by its highly passionate learning and development  team.

“Oil India has been recognized for its involvement in the most innovative initiatives like Innovative HR Practices, Public Sector Initiative, Excellence in Training, Fun at Work, Diversity Impact, Leading HR Practices in Quality Work Life and Change Management Initiative, ” he said.

In addition to the awards, OIL was ranked 24th out of 200 participating organizations in the Dream Companies to Work for listings. Only the shortlisted top 50 companies are ranked where OIL’s rank last year was 45th.

The awards were given away by Marshall Goldsmith, the thought leader and leadership thinker. He is ranked as the World’s topmost coach as well as one of the top ten most-Influential business thinkers in the world. He is also a New York Times bestseller author and Dartmouth Tuck Professor.

The awards included Business Leadership Awards – Diversity Impact Award for Project Anubhav which is  OIL’s ambitious project. Anubhav is a unique one-day training programme for sanitation workers engaged in OIL’s operations.

“The main focus of this programme was to train the front line sanitation workers of OIL and to equip them with appropriate knowledge and skills for better sanitation and hygiene outcomes and help contribute in the Swaach Bharat Initiative,” Barua said.

” Anubhuti is a unique workshop targeted at employees’ health and concerns for the first two days and their spouses on the concluding day. The objective of the workshop is to create awareness on the importance of balancing work, family and personal life of the employees,”Barua added.

The third award was for 5th Global Training and Development Congress – Best Change Management Initiative or Programme for Project Sakshiam, an Initiative for overall development of workers.

The fourth award was Best Employer Brand Awards- Award for Excellence in Training for Project Approach to training at Oil India Limited

Another prestigious award was Times Ascent – Dream Companies to Work For Awards – Fun at Work Award for Utusan, which is an innovative out-bound training programme which helps in team building for organizational excellence.

The next was the ET Modi Awards – Best Public Sector Initiative for Udvikas which is a customized training on digital payments and cyber security for OIL employees.

The seventh award was HR Talent Management Leadership awards – HR Excellence Awards for PSU Sector for Innovative HR Practices for Sampark which started with a need to foster a workplace culture characterized by respectful dialogue, data driven decisions, employee inclusiveness, and efficient operations.

Barua  further said that the World HRD Congress awards recognizes the efforts of organizations that have demonstrated excellence through their innovative programmes, and shown clear and measurable business results to drive organizational excellence.

All nominations go through a rigorous six step process from receiving the entries to the final rankings.
