After months of delay, Google has introduced dark mode for Gmail on iPhone and iPad.

According to a report, the iPhone and iPad users can switch between dark or light themes after upgrading to iOS 13.

The users also can use the default system theme.

Google announced to introduce Dark Mode in September last year for Gmail, however, the rollout got delayed.

The new feature has been subject to “delay and inconsistent functionality”.

Due to the delay in rolling it out, the users failed to have access to Dark Mode.

The users were eagerly waiting so that the announcement comes true and finally it has become a reality.

Google has officially listed it in the latest update release notes and the Dark Mode is here to stay.

How to activate the Dark Mode?

According to the report, the users can activate Dark Mode within Gmail through the Menu section of the app, located in the top left-hand corner of the screen (three-line icon).

Now, the users will have to select ‘Settings’ and then ‘Theme’.

In ‘Theme’, the users can select ‘Light’, ‘Dark’ or ‘System Default’.

In the last few months, Gmail has added several new features to its Gmail app for iOS, including support for Siri shortcuts when sending emails, and adding attachments to emails from the iOS files app.
