Tata Motors has announced the official launch date of their highly anticipated Curvv SUV-coupe.

Scheduled to arrive in dealerships on August 7, 2024, the Curvv will be the first mass-produced SUV coupe to enter the Indian market, offering a stylish alternative to traditional mid-size SUVs.

Taking design cues from the popular Nexon, the Curvv boasts a similar aesthetic with signature split-LED headlamps, prominent black body cladding, and a sleek, sloping roofline that defines the “coupe” aspect.

Expect subtle variations between the internal combustion engine (ICE) and electric vehicle (EV) models, potentially manifested in different bumpers and lighting details.

Dimensionally, the Curvv will be larger than the Nexon, offering a more spacious interior with an extended wheelbase.

Inside, the Curvv is expected to borrow heavily from its Nexon and Harrier/Safari siblings.

Look for a familiar four-spoke illuminated steering wheel and a digital instrument cluster housed within a 10.25-inch display.

The EV variant might see some unique features and switchgear, similar to the differentiation between the Nexon and Nexon EV.

Potential convenience features include a wireless charging pad, panoramic sunroof, 360-degree camera, ventilated seats, and connected car technology.

The Curvv will cater to diverse preferences with three engine choices. A new 1.2-litre, three-cylinder turbo-petrol engine generating 125 horsepower will be offered with both manual and automatic transmission options.

Diesel enthusiasts can opt for the proven 1.5-litre, four-cylinder unit borrowed from the Nexon. Finally, the electric version will utilize Tata’s Gen 2 acti.ev architecture, promising a driving range estimated between 450 and 500 kilometres on a single charge.

While technical details remain scarce, expect the EV model to launch first, potentially priced around Rs 20 lakh.
