Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Guwahati Assam is inviting applications from eligible candidates for recruitment to the post or career of JRF (GATE) in the project entitled, “Metabolic engineering of Rhodococcus opacus: A potential workhorse for lignin valorization into high-value lipids” at the Department of Biosciences and Bioengineering. Indian Institute of Technology Guwahati, the sixth member of the IIT fraternity, was established in 1994. The academic programme of IIT Guwahati commenced in 1995. At present the Institute has altogether eleven departments, seven inter-disciplinary academic centres and five schools covering all the major engineering , science, healthcare, management and humanities disciplines. Indian Institute of Technology Guwahati’s campus is altogether on a sprawling 285 hectares plot of land on the north bank of the river Brahmaputra around 20 kms from the heart of the city. IIT Guwahati is also the only academic institution in India that occupied a place among the top 100 world universities. It has also been has been ranked as the top-ranked University in 2019. It has also retained the 7th position among the best engineering institutions of the country

Qualification :
BE/B.Tech or ME/M.Tech or MSc in (Biotechnology/Chemical/Biochemical/Industrial Biotechnology) with valid GATE score.
The selection process through National Level examinations conducted by Central Government
Departments and their Agencies and institutions altogether such as DST, DBT, DAE, DOs,DRDO, MHRD, ICAR, ICMR, IISc, IISCR etc
Selection Procedure :
A walk-in-interview will be held on 6th March 2024 from 11 AM onwards in O-block, Seminar Hall, BSBE Dept. , IIT Guwahati, Assam
