Gauhati University Assam is inviting applications from eligible candidates for recruitment to the post or career of Senior Research Fellow (SRF) in the project entitled “Molecular Biology Application: Research and Diagnostic Techniques”. Gauhati University is altogether one of the premier institutions of higher education in Northeast India and one of the most sought-after postgraduate institutions. It is the oldest and the largest university in the entire Northeast. The university represents the academic and cultural background of the region, on which the other academic institutions of Northeast India started their journey. It is the pioneer educational institute also. It also extends its hand holding support to all subsequent academic institutions in this region. Indologist and philanthropist Krishna Kanta Handiqui had been the founder Vice Chancellor of Gauhati University. Some very illustrious sons and daughters of Assam have been its alumni.

Essential Qualification :
1st class master’s degree including integrated master’s degree and M.Tech in Life Science/ Biotechnology/Microbiology/Biochemistry/Genetics/Zoology
Desirable :
1. Two years’ Experience molecular biology techniques such as handling cell culture work and molecular cloning as envisaged by publications.
2. Ability to design and execute independent research studies/policy cantered work with respect to molecular biology
3. At least two publications in peer-reviewed journals in the relevant area. Journal should be listed in the Science Citation Index (SCI)
Emoluments : Rs. 49560/- per month
