Dhakuakhana College in the District of Lakhimpur, Assam (India) was established in 1966 by way of public donations. It envisages social transformation through higher education and also community reach out programs. The History of the college is a reflection of keen and also earnest desire of the people of Dhakuakhana where most of the inhabitants are belonging to the underprivileged sections of the society viz. the Scheduled Tribes, Scheduled Castes and Other backward classes. The college is affiliated to the Dibrugarh University, Dibrugarh and recognized by the UGC under sections 2(f) and 12(B). The college was taken under Deficit system of Grant in Aid in 1975 and brought under the provincialised system by the Government of Assam in December 2005. It also offers undergraduate courses in Science and Humanities having sixteen teaching departments. It also runs a Bio-Tech Hub and a study centre under the Krishna Kanta Handique State Open University(KKHSOU).
