The athletic team of Hojai District Sports Association went on Saturday evening to participate at 43rd All Assam Seniors and Junior (under 20) Athletic Competition to be held at Sarusajai Stadium in Gauhati from June 30 to July 2 next.
A total of 20 member team from Hojai district in Assam went to take part in the competition. The team comprises 18 players and two officials. They left from Lumding.
President of Lumding Sports Association and the MLA Lumding Shibu Misra on Saturday evening distributed team jersey before their departure to Guwahati.
Mishra also extended his best wishes, encouraged the players to perform well and bring laurels for Hojai district.
Assistant general secretary, Hojai District Sports Association Ashim Majumder handed over the DSA flag to team captain.
S Nath, senior player and Debashis Gupta, social worker, O Sushil Sing and Tapash Sen, athletic coach were also present during this moment.
Hojai District Sports Association assistant general secretary and Lumding Sports Association general secretary Sudip Das organized the programme.
