Bangladesh cricketer Shakib Al Hasan on Monday achieved a unique feat by becoming the first player from the country to score 1000 runs in World Cup.

Hasan also became the 19th cricketer in the world to achieve this significant milestone in his cricketing career.

Apart from scoring a remarkable 1000 World Cup runs, Hasan also became the first Bangladeshi man to take a five wicket haul and score a half century in a World Cup match.

He scored 51 runs off 69 balls in the cricket match against Afghanistan on Monday.

Hasan was able to take five wickets when the total score of Afghanistan was 29 in 10 overs.

Former Indian cricketer Yuvraj Singh was the first cricketer in World Cup history to take five wickets and score 50 runs in a single match.

The 32-year –old is the highest run scorer of Bangladesh by achieving 476 runs in six matches of the World Cup this year.

Hasan scored 121 runs in the match against England and 124 runs against West Indies.
