A gang of three motor-cycle lifters was arrested in North Lakhimpur ending a long spell of two-wheeler theft in the town and various parts of Lakhimpur district.
In three separate operations, Lakhimpur police arrested Manas Bora of Sadiya, Rakesh Pegu of Panigaon and Jiten Pawe alias Biki alias Subba of Pahumora.
The trio was running a two-wheeler thieves’ racket in Lakhimpur district.
The gang had been in police scanner for several months as they were involved in a number of cases of two-wheeler theft in Laluk, Nowboicha, Bihpuria, Banderdewa and Bogeenadi areas of Lakhimpur district.
Three stolen motor bikes were also recovered from the possession of the arrested trio.
