The Pradesh Election Committee of the ruling Congress in Meghalaya will meet next week to screen its candidates vying for party ticket for the upcoming Assembly elections slated for February 27.
A senior Congress leader on Friday said that the committee will sit either on Monday or Tuesday.
The 13-member committee is headed by Meghalaya Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC) president and minister, Dr Celestine Lyngdoh.
The committee also includes Chief Minister Dr Mukul Sangma as member besides Shillong MP Vincent H. Pala who is also the MPCC working president, veteran leader, D.D. Lapang who is the adviser to the MPCC.
