Sikkim Democratic Front (SDF) spokesperson and Lok Sabha MP, PD Rai asserted that the people of Sikkim need to understand that Sikkim Krantikari Morcha (SKM) party has been working to give backdoor entry to the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Sikkim.

Rai while addressing a press conference here on Monday said that the recent statements of the national leaders of the BJP in Sikkim have exposed the “secret coordination” between the BJP and the SKM.

Talking to reporters, Lok Sabha MP Rai also said: “The statements of BJP leaders prove that there is a nexus between the BJP and the SKM and the claim that the alliance did not happen following no better coordination is false.”

He added that the slogan of the BJP ‘Modi in, Chamling out’ shows how the BJP is looking at Sikkim.

Rai stated: “The graph of SKM party goes down during its ongoing talks with the BJP for alliance but it has been exposed that the alliance is still alive.”

Rai asked the SKM party to tell the people of Sikkim about its chief ministerial candidate as PS Golay cannot be become even a nominated chairman.

He stressed that youths and government employees need to be very serious in this matter.

Rai also urged the people of Sikkim to cast their vote wisely to the SDF party to save Sikkim and its identity.

On the Limboo-Tamang seat reservation issue, he said that the statement of the BJP proves that it has stopped the constitutional right of the LT in Sikkim.

Rai stated that Sikkim has witnessed unprecedented developments and progress and made achievements in tourism and industries sectors.

He added that Sikkim was in the second position in GSDP and has achieved highest per capita income in the country.

Rai further added that now the SDF has come up with its Universal Basic Income programme for the people of Sikkim.

SDF spokesperson Bhim Dahal also criticised the secret relationship between the SKM and the BJP.

He stated the BJP has “betrayed” the Gorkha community and always suppresses the minorities in the country.

Dahal mentioned that the BJP has once again included the universal civil code in its manifesto and shows its real face against secularism.
