As part of the preparations for the forthcoming 71st biennial conference of the Darrang district unit of the Koch Rajbongshi Sanmilani, the ‘Lai khuta’ (principal post) of the main pandal was installed on Thursday at Hirapara village near Mangaldai town in Darrang district.

It may be mentioned that the two-day-long 71st biennial conference of the Darrang district unit of the Koch Rajbongshi Sanmilani has been scheduled to be held on March 24 and March 25, 2018.

The preparations for the biennial conference of the Koch-Rajbongshi body got its momentum on Thursday with the laying of the ‘Lai khuta’ of the main pandal.

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MLA of the Mangaldai Assembly constituency (SC), Gurujyoti Das, who is the chief patron of the organising committee of the biennial conference of Darrang district Koch Rajbongshi Sanmilani, ceremonially installed ‘Lai khuta’ at the proposed venue – Hirapara village near Mangaldai town – in presence of a number of prominent  personalities of the area and office-bearers of the organizing committee including its president Dineswar Saharia, adviser of Darrang District Committee of Asom Jatiyatabadi Yuva Parishad (AJYCP) Bhabesh Kakoti and Darrang district unit president of the All Assam Students’ Union (AASU) Khanindra Rajbongshi among others.
