Manipur governor Najma A Heptulla  flagged off the team of AMASI (Association of Minimal Access Surgeons of India) from Raj Bhavan in Imphal for an Advanced Laparoscopic Live Operating Workshop at Mandalay in Myanmar.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr Kalpesh Jani, secretary of AMASI, said that the association is dedicated to the noble cause of humanitarian service and focussing for the well being of the people that inhabit to the interior and remote parts of the country.

AMASI has more than 7500 members from all across the country.

The association has covered even the neighbouring countries like Bangladesh and Sri Lanka.

This year, it is targeting Myanmar.

Nepal will come probably next year.

Expert faculty members from different parts of the country will leave for Myanmar for the three-day (March 8,9 and 10, 2019) Advanced Laparoscopic Live Operating Workshop.

The programme will give importance on the benefits of laparoscopic surgery, education and training.
