Assamese movie Xhoixobote Dhemalite (Rainbow Fields) will release in Assam on January 16 (Monday). The film made by National Award winning director Bidyut Kotoky deals with the mental trauma of children growing up in the turbulent era of Assam agitation.
The film stars Assamese actress and model Dipannita Sharma and Victor Bannerjee in the lead roles. The Charity Premiere of the film will be held at Anuradha Cineplex in Guwahati on Monday at 7.30 in the evening. The proceeds of the premiere will go to the Moran Blind School, Assam.
The film has already won many laurels in the country and abroad. It was earlier selected by Kids First – the world’s largest platform for children’s film. The film had won Best Foreign Film Award at Hollywood CineFest and had its world premiere at IFFI Goa, under the prestigious Indian Panorama.
Xhoixobote Dhemalite will also be the first Assamese to be released in US commercially. Cine Grand multiplex chain of Media Konnect distribution company will screen the film in selected theatres across US.
