The Assam Government’s Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has prohibited the sale, manufacture, storage, distribution of brand packaged drinking water Bailley from January 18.
The ban imposed under the provisions of Food Safety and Standards Act, 2006 will remain in force for 30 days in the state.
The FDA has imposed the ban on Bailley as test reports of samples revealed the presence of microbial contaminants in the Bailley packaged drinking water. Fluoride content was also found higher than the prescribed limit.
The packaged drinking water is manufactured by Udayak Argo products Pvt. Ltd. in Kahilakuchi, Satgaon in Guwahati.
