Along with the other parts of Assam, Silpi Divas, the death anniversary of Rupkonwar Jyoti Prasad Agarwala, was observed by several organizations, including Hojai College at College campus and Sarv Hindustani Parishad, Assam State Committee at Adarsha Pustakalya in Hojai.

In Hojai College, the department of Assamese organized a remembrance meeting to pay rich tribute to the cultural icon.

At the very outset, floral tributes were paid and earthen lamps were lighted in front of the portrait of Rupkonwar Jyoti Prasad Agarwala.
Dr Haidar Hussain, principal (in charge) and associate professor, department of History, Hojai College; Dr Satyajeet Kumar, associate professor, department of Chemistry, Hojai College; L Patgiri, associate professor, department of Commerce, Hojai College and Dipak Bora, associate professor, department of Assamese, Hojai College were present on the dais.
Speaking on the occasion, Satyajeet Kumar said, “Rupkonwar Jyoti Prasad Agarwala is a cultural symbol for Assam and by heart and soul true Assamese.”
“Jyoti Prasad Agarwala was such a legendary who devoted himself in uplifting of Assamese culture and language,” he added.
He further asserted that Jyoti Prasad was the father of modern Assam, adding that because of his continuous efforts Assam got worldwide recognition.
Non-teaching staffs and students were also present in the meeting.
On the other hand, members of Sarv Hindustani Parishad (SHP), Assam State Committee paid floral tributes and lighted lamp in front of the portrait of the poet, filmmaker, writer and lyricist Ropkonwar Jyoti Prasad Agarwalla at Adarsha Pustakalya in Hojai
Speaking on the occasion, SHP president Raj Gupta along with committee members said, “Rupkwonor Jyoti Prasad Agarwala was a revolutionary artiste who always stood for the cause of masses.”
