Police on Tuesday arrested the director of an orphanage in Silapathar for allegedly sexually harassing a minor girl of the orphanage.
Silapathar police arrested Madhab Krishna Goswami, director of Silapathat Sevashram at Silapathar in Dhemaji district and two others following a complaint filed by the family members of a 16-year-old inmate of the orphanage.
Police have registered a case (no 12/2018) under section 4 of the POSCO Act in connection with the incident.
Police sources said Goswami sexually harassed the minor girl over last three months.
“The girl has been shifted to Nagaon children home following medical examination,” Dhemaji SP Nilesh T Sawakare told Northeast Now.
