Tripura made 146 for two in 52 overs against Jharkhand in the second innings of the Ranji trophy match being played at Ranchi on Tuesday.

They now need 10 more runs to cross the Jharkhand’s first innings lead.

Earlier, the visitors restricted Jharkhand innings at 409 from Monday’s 307 for four in just 28.4 overs, reports tripurainfo.com.

Neelambuj Vats and Saurabh Das claimed two wickets each while Harmeet Singh and Pratyush Singh took one each.

Neelambuj got his first five-wicket haul in his debut match.

Jharkhand took 156 runs first innings lead. Anukul Roy (20), skipper Ishan (39) and Shahbaz Nadeem (0) failed to play big innings.

Tripura lost Samrat Singha(01) quickly in the second innings when they were at five runs in 2.1 overs. But Bishal Ghosh (61) and Udiyan Bose(73) made a brilliant partnership of 110 runs on second wicket before Bishal was caught behind off Rahul Shukla.

At stumps on Day-III, Nirupam Sen (07) was with Udiyan on the crease.

Wednesday is the final day of the four-day match. Jharkhand needs eight Tripura wickets as early as possible in the morning session so that they can achieve the target of an outright win for seven points.
