Nineteen alumni of Netaji Vidyapith Railway Higher Secondary School from 1957 to 1968 were honoured during a function at Maligaon in Guwahati on Sunday.

The alumni were honoured by the Netiaji Vidyapith Alumni Association (NVPAA) at PICHUTAN-3, the 3rd Grand Runion of the ex-students of the school.

It may be mentioned that Netaji Vidyapith Railway Higher Secondary School was established in 1948 and is one of the pioneering railway educational institutes under North East Frontier Railway (NFR) of the Northeast India.

PICHUTAN 3, the 3rd Grand Reunion at Netaji Vidyapith Railway Higher Secondary School was held with a two-day programme beginning on December 22, 2018.

Netaji Vidyapith Railway Higher Secondary School is located at Ward No 5 in the city.

It is a co-educational school.

As per information, the student-teacher ratio of Netaji Vidyapith Railway HS School can be approximated to be 1 teacher for every 35 students.

The school has students from Class 1 to Class 12.

In an exhibition organised in November this year more than 200 students of Netaji Vidyapith Railway Higher Secondary School from primary level to Higher Secondary level participated with their models.

The exhibition was the first of its kind students’ motivational ‘Exhibition 2018’ organised at the school campus from November 16, 2018 to November 17, 2018.

The students of the school had presented models from different educational fields like science, social studies, art and craft, wildlife – conservation, astronomy and entrepreneurship skills.

The nearby schools of Maligaon also visited the two-day long exhibition.
