Tripura Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb called on Prime Minister Narendra Modi at the Parliament House in New Delhi on Thursday.

During this meeting, Chief Minister Deb apprised the Prime Minister regarding the extensive efforts being made by the Tripura State Government for transforming Tripura into a Model State.

Deb informed the PM that all the flagship schemes of the Central Government are being effectively implemented across the state to ensure that fruits of development reach till the last person in the society.

Prime Minister Modi appreciated the positive vision and steps being taken by the Chief Minister for overall development of the 37 lakh people of the State.

During the meeting, the following four issues were discussed: Grant of Rs 750 crores more, in continuation of the Rs 750 crores sanctioned on September 28, 2018; Rs 358 crore grant to complete 81 unfinished projects under SPA; withdrawal of few Indigo and Spicejet flights from Agartala and upgradation of TSECL 132 KB Surjyamaninagar Sub-Station to 400 KB.

Prime Minister Modi assured the Chief Minister of the continuing support of the Central Government on all the above said issues to the Government of Tripura.

Later in the day, Chief Minister Deb called on Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley in New Delhi.

The Union Finance Minister appreciated the energy and vision of the Tripura CM in securing the financial interests of the State of Tripura and its citizens. During the meeting the following issues were extensively discussed the issue of grant of another Rs 750 crores in continuation of the Rs 750 crores sanctioned on September 28, 2018 and Rs 358 crore grant to complete 81 unfinished projects under SPA.

The Union Finance Minister assured the continuing support of the Ministry of Finance, Government of India to the State of Tripura.

Chief Minister Deb also called on Union Minister of HRD, Shri Prakash Javadekar on Thursday.

The Tripura CM requested the HRD Minister for consideration of the proposal of the School Education Department, Govt. of Tripura for granting one time relaxation in qualifying marks and exemption professional qualification for recruitment of teachers.

The request has received approval of Union Minister of HRD who informed the Chief Minister that the notification will be issued in a few days.

Moreover, the proposal of the State Government to open two new Kendriya Vidyalayas in Tripura have also received in-principal approval from the Central Government and the work on the same shall initiate soon.

Besides, Chief Minister Deb also met the NITI Aayog Vice Chairman, Rajiv Kumar later during the day.

Extensive discussions were held during the meeting regarding various developmental initiatives being undertaken by the State Government of Tripura.  Rajiv Kumar assured wholehearted support of the NITI Aayog for the Chief Minister’s vision for Transforming Tripura into a Model State.
