Counting of ballots for Panchayat polls is on in full swing in North Lakhimpur.

The counting of the ballots, which began at the premises of North Lakhimour HS School from the morning, will take a long time to have a clear result.

So far results of only few seats have been coming out.

In 4 ZPCs of Nowboicha whose outcome has been declared, the BJP has got 3 seats along with 1 by the AGP. The BJP has also bagged 19 Ward Members seats in Dhakuwakhona Gaon Panchayat, 4 in Bihpuria Gaon Panchayat, 3 in Pichala Gaon Panchayat and 1 in Harmutty Gaon Panchayat of the district. The Congress has won the 8 Ward Members in Dhakuwakhona GP, 2 in Rajgarh (Narayanpur GP), 3 in Lakhimpur GP. The AGP has won 2 Ward Members in Dhenikhona Batomari GP in Ghilamora, 6 in Bihpuria GP, 6 in Dhakuwakhona GP and 2 in Lakhimpur GP. For Gaon Panchayat President the BJP won 1 each in Bihpuria and Ghilamora while the AGP won at Kathalguri GP. BJP’s pre-poll ally Gana Shakti also won 6 Ward Members in Dhakuwakhona GP.

The complete results of the counting of ballots for Panchayat polls are expected to come tomorrow morning.
