It will be an all-women affair in two out of the total 203 polling stations in Bokakhat sub-division in Assam where first phase panchayat election will  be held on December 5 next.

Twenty-two polling stations in the sub-division will have women as Presiding Officers out of the total 223 Presiding Officers deployed in all the 203 polling stations in the sub-division.

An official communiqué issued here today informed that even the security staff would be women in the two all-women polling stations — 54 Namdoyang and 62 East Da-Gaon polling station. Moreover, the fourth polling official in all the 203 polling stations in the sub-division is a woman.

The Election Observer for Bokakhat Sub-Division, Leena Das who is the Director of Border Development and Protection Department of Assam, today held a meeting with representatives of all political parties, polling officials to review the preparation for  holding election on December 5.
