Lt Gen CP Mohanty, GOC 33 Corps called on Sikkim Chief Minister Pawan Chamling at his official residence, Mintokgang on Monday.  He was accompanied by Major Gen NS Raja Subramani, GOC 17 Mountain Division.

Lt Gen CP Mohanty congratulated the chief minister for dedicating his vision and turning it into reality by making Sikkim the finest state of the country. He stated that it was one of the most well maintained states and also applauded the Sikkimese people for their remarkable dedication and simplicity evident in every field and social structure.

He put forth his views and stated that improving the road connectivity further would help in more tourism boom for the state. He also informed the chief minister about significant vacancies in the Sikkim Scouts which should be filled up by local unemployed youths since it is dedicated to border defence and mountain warfare.

The chief minister said that issue relating to better connectivity has been placed at the centre many times. He stated that the relation between the state government and the Army has always been wonderful and he thanked him for all the help extended for the cooperation and safeguard of the Sikkimese people.
