In a bid to promote tourism activities in the Siang region, local MLA Kaling Moyong on Saturday launched boating services in Siang River for tourists and visitors at Komlighat here, as the tourist season in Arunachal Pradesh began with the onset of winter.

The MLA along with guests and visitors took the inaugural boat ride on the river.

“Nature has bestowed the Siang Valley with scenic beauty and boating and rafting experience that tourists and visitors look forward to,” Moyong said.

He called upon the enterprising citizens, particularly the youth, to take up and explore avenues in the tourism sector with activities that enrich the experience of visitors, which will help create employment opportunities and also generate revenue.

Informing the gathering that the state government led by chief minister Pema Khandu has given special focus to the promotion of the tourism sector with various initiatives, the MLA urged the youth and citizens to avail the State and the Central government schemes in the sector.

The venture under the name JJ Boating services has been started by Nong Jamoh. Boating services will be operational from 10 am to 4 pm.
