Popular Manipuri actress Narmada Sougaijam was awarded the National Konkan Madhuri Award 2018 ,a prestigious award at the All India Multilingual Play, Dance & Music Festival 2018.
The festival was held recently at Mohan’s Carnival MADGAON, Goa, and organized by Mohan’s Abhinaya Sanskratik Sansthan.
The talented actress enthralled the audience with her outstanding performances in Classical Open Dance, Solo Folk Dance and Thang Leiteng, a Manipuri dance accompanying intricate sword movements.
Her performances prompted the jury member to declare her as winner of all the dances.
She was attending the festival as an artist of the Southern Manipur Art & Culture Promotion Centre, Kakching.
She was born and brought up in Manipur as the daughter of Sougaijam Joyraj and Sougaijam (O) Tombisana.
Born in February 1998 she has featured in many Manipuri video albums and video films and wants to continue pursuing acting and dancing as a career.
