It was a spectacular come back for United Sikkim FC after two goals down to defeat Sikkim Himalayan SC 3-2 in a crucial Sikkim Premier League match at Paljor Stadium in Gangtok on Saturday.

Karan Rai, Ong Tshering Lepcha and Pelsang Lama scored for Sikkim United FC while Hissey Bhutia and S Lepcha netted the two goals for Sikkim Himalayan SC.

Sikkim Himalayan SC was always taking command of the game from the very start and were taking a 1-0 lead at half time.

They secured their lead with another goal just when the second half of play began.

However, the United Sikkim FC came back strongly through sheer grit, aggression and disciplined skills to score the equalizers.

players did not lose their hopes or discipline and aggressively attacked the Sikkim Himalayan SC defence to find the equalising goals in 61st and 84th minutes.

Continuing their momentum, United Sikkim FC players scored the winning goal through a spot kick seconds before the final whistle to snatch a scintillating victory in a crucial match.

United Sikkim FC got three valuable points and consolidated their position at the top of the points table.

Before the start of the match, the Sikkim Football Association executives and members offered tributes to Late Atal Bihari Vajpayee.

A two-minute silence was also observed as a mark of respect to the departed leader before the match kicked-off.
