Noted Assam director Reema Kagti’s upcoming film Gold, has got its very own emoji. The film will release on Independence Day.

Social media giant Twitter on Friday unveiled a special emoji for the Akshay Kumar starrer.Twitter came out with the emoji in association with Excel Entertainment.

Starting from Friday, people can get the emoji by tweeting with #GoldMovie or #Gold2018. The emoji appears next to the hashtag in the tweet and is inspired by India’s first Olympic gold medal.

It will be active until August 16.

Earlier, Twitter had come out with emojis for films like Kaala, Mersal, Tubelight, Befikre, Bigg Boss 10, Koffee With Karan, IIFA 2018 and Filmfare Awards.

The film which stars Akshay Kumar in the lead role is based on true incident of India winning the Olympic gold medal in hockey as a free nation in 1948.

It traces the “golden era” of Indian hockey through the journey of Tapan Das, a young assistant manager in 1936, who dreamt of playing for an independent nation.

The film is being produced by Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani and also stars Mouni Roy, Kunal Kapoor, Amit Sadh and Vineet Singh.

Reema Kagti, who hails from Guwahati started her career as an Assistant Director in many leading productions like Dil Chahta Hai, Lakshya and Lagaan. She has assisted both siblings, Farhan and Zoya Akhtar in their directorial ventures.

She made her directorial debut with the ensemble comedy drama Honeymoon Travels Pvt Ltd. However, her big break as a director came with Talaash, a suspense thriller starring Aamir Khan, Kareena Kapoor, Rani Mukherjee and Nawazuddin Siddique. The movie did well at the box office and fetched critical acclaim as well. Now, it is to be seen whether she can attain box office glory with Gold.
