Bodoland Territorial Council (BTC) Chief Hagrama Mohilary termed the declaration of final draft publication of National Register of Citizens (NRC) as historic for the people of Assam.

Talking to the media at the Bodoland Guest House on Monday evening Mohilary welcomed the draft and congratulated the people.

He said there had been apprehension among the people about the law and order situation but it went off peacefully which is an achievement for the people of Assam.

The BTC chief also asked the people whose names are missing in the list not to panic as there is ample scope for inclusion of names in the list.

“We will help in our capacity to all those whose names are missing in the draft,” he said.

He said the BPF party in its executive meeting to be held on August 4 will discuss on it to help the people with their documents.

On the statement of West Bengal Chief minister on NRC, he said the statement is unfortunate.
