Uber Eats, an American online food ordering and delivery platform launched by Uber in 2014 is now all set to come to Guwahati.

It is launching its services in the city on Friday. It is present in 18 cities in India and more than 220 cities worldwide.

Uber Eats partners with popular local restaurants to get consumers the food they want, delivered at their doorstep in the least amount of time possible, according to the company.

Consumers can download the app, enter their address, look for their favourite restaurant and place an order. Real-time tracking of orders is also possible.

The company sources said they conduct training sessions for every delivery partner who joins their platform. They are also given an Uber Eats insulated backpack that is designed to maintain the temperature of the food.

At the start of services cuisines like Indian, Chinese, pizzas to local cuisines, desserts and ice-creams will be delivered. Altogether 150 of the most loved restaurants in Guwahati have been curated in the launch phase, with more to come aboard, reports The Telegraph.

Uber Eats services will start off in key neighbourhoods like Six Mile including Beltola and Khanapara, Ganeshguri and surrounding areas, Paltan Bazaar, Uzan Bazaar, Fancy Bazar and Chandmari.

The service will charge Rs 10 as delivery fee in Guwahati. As a launch offer, Uber Eats is giving out a flat 50 per cent off on a minimum order value of Rs 100.
