Guwahati: Educational institutions on Tuesday reopened across Manipur after 11 days of closure even as the security forces continued their area domination and combing and search operations in the fringe and vulnerable areas of the crisis-hit state.
However, attendance was thin in some educational institutions but the majority of them witnessed good attendance.
Meanwhile, the school and college authorities expressed that they are hopeful of a high turnout of students from Wednesday.
The Manipur education department on Monday had issued orders for reopening of all educational institutions in the state from Tuesday.

The state government on September 6 had ordered closure of educational institutions across Manipur after the state witnessed a spate of violence since September 1.
Following the attacks by suspected militants, thousands of students took to the streets of state capital Imphal and other places for two days in protest against the gruesome attacks.
The students demanded the removal of Manipur Director General of Police, the state security advisor and withdrawal of the Central security forces from the state. They also clashed with the security forces while marching their way to the Raj Bhavan.
Representatives of the students later met Governor Lakshman Prasad Acharya and Chief Minister N Biren Singh to press for their demands.
Earlier on Monday, the Manipur government lifted the ban on internet and mobile data services in five districts – Imphal West, Imphal East, Thoubal, Bishnupur and Kakching.
