Assam: Government school in shambles in Baksa

Pathsala: A government school in Baksa, Assam is allegedly in shambles with almost no basic amenities for the students.

Bartari Higher Secondary School, established in 1981, is plagued by “neglect and apathy”, leaving its 100 students to suffer.

Adding layers to the neglect, there are reports that the teachers arrive late and also depart by 12:30 p.m., which is not the schedule of the school.

Another allegation put forward is while the school falls under the mid-day meal scheme, it is not implemented.

Many students have stopped attending school due to the absence of teachers.

Those who remain are forced to sit in “civil dress”, as uniforms are not provided to some.

“We’re in Class 9, but our principal never attends school. Teachers leave after two classes. How can we learn?” a student lamented.
