The 21st Assam Rifles conducted a workshop on health and hygiene and prevention of water borne diseases at Thelakum under Khowai district of Tripura on Wednesday in order to spread awareness regarding water borne diseases.

A press statement issued by the Assam Rifles informed that a total of about 271 youth, women, children and village elders attended the informative lecture.

Locals were briefed about causes and preventive measures of Cholera , Hepatitis A, Dengue and Typhoid , which generally spread during the monsoon season.

The locals expressed their gratitude and appreciated the commitment of Assam Rifles for increasing awareness in the far flung and remote areas of Tripura, the press release further stated.
