Joint team of Assam Rifles and Army destroy NSCN camps in Arunachal

A joint team of Assam Rifles and Army under the aegis of DAO division conducted operations in Motongsa village in Arunachal Pradesh and destroyed three major NSCN (I-M) camps and a logistic base.

According to a press statement issued on Tuesday by Kohima based PRO (Defence), the massive operation was launched based on specific intelligence about presence of cadres trying to terrorize and attempting extortion in and around Motongsa village.

During search of the thickly vegetated area, the party located and destroyed three NSCN (I-M) camps and a logistic base, the statement said.

The camps were being used by the outfit as base of operations and had allowed the group to increase their influence in the area, it added.
