Manipur University is inviting applications from eligible candidates for recruitment to the posts or jobs of Guest Faculty on contract basis in the Department of History. Manipur University came into being on 5th June 1980 under the Manipur University Act, 1980 (Manipur Act 8 of 1980). It came up as a teaching-cum-affiliating University at Imphal with territorial jurisdiction over the whole of the state of Manipur. Manipur University became a central university w.e.f. 13/10/2005. The Manipur University Act No 54 of 2005 received the assent of the President on 28/12/2005. It is present at Canchipur, Imphal, the capital city of Manipur. The university campus is spread over an area of 287.53 acres in the historic Canchipur which is the site of the old palace of Manipur. Its vision is to become a world-class university and educate the youth of the region so as to enable them to participate fully in the development of the nation and become responsible citizens.

Essential Qualification :
As prescribed by the UGC for Assistant Professor in the concerned subject altogether.
Desirable: Medieval/Modern Indian History.
Honorarium: Rs. 1500/- per lecture subject to a maximum of Rs. 50,000/- (Fifty thousand) only per month.
Selection Procedure :
Candidates may appear for a walk-in-interview on 23rd July 2024 at 12:15 PM altogether in Committee Room of the Vice Chancellor’s Secretariat, Manipur University
