Imphal: A team of Assam Rifles and police conducted successful raids on Tuesday in the southern Thoubal district of Manipur recovering another cache of arms and ammunition.

Acting on intelligence suggesting militant activity and weapon caches in the Tekcham area, the joint forces launched an operation.

The raid resulted in the recovery of four 9mm pistols and ammunition.

Following up on this success, security forces conducted search operations and area patrols in the vulnerable Waithou Hill region of the same district.

This phase yielded a significant haul of weapons, including one SMG Carbine with a magazine, a single-barreled gun, a wireless set, mortar shells, grenades (including Chinese-made variants), a dye marker grenade, stun and tear gas shells, detonators, and additional 9mm ammunition.

All recovered items were handed over to Manipur Police for further investigation.
