Agartala: Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha emphasized the pivotal role engineers play in addressing fundamental public issues, asserting that they represent the face of the government.

Speaking at the inauguration of a voluntary blood donation camp and a felicitation ceremony for meritorious students organized by the Tripura State Engineers Association at Bhagat Singh Youth Hostel in Agartala, Saha underscored the importance of timely and efficient completion of infrastructure projects.

“Engineers are the face of the government. Our engineers are excelling abroad, creating magnificent structures and undertaking innovative projects. There is no reason we can’t achieve the same in our own country or state. We possess immense talent. Essential services like roads, drinking water, and electricity are critical for the people. It is the engineers’ responsibility to implement these. The government will ensure there is no shortage of funds for developmental work,” stated Saha.

The Chief Minister commended the Engineers Association for their social contributions, such as organizing blood donation camps alongside their professional duties.

He urged engineers to proactively address basic public needs, citing instances where poor road conditions have led to protests.

“People demand roads, electricity, and drinking water, nothing more. Ensuring these services falls on the engineers. It is unacceptable for people to protest on the streets for these basic necessities. Our government is committed to the comprehensive development of all sections of society. We will do whatever is necessary for the state’s development,” he affirmed.

Highlighting the state government’s efforts, Saha mentioned various innovative initiatives to provide purified drinking water.

He called on engineers to work diligently and responsibly to ensure the successful implementation of these projects, aligning with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s emphasis on efficiency.

Saha stressed the necessity of completing development projects on time, noting that measures have been taken to facilitate discussions with district magistrates, sub-divisional magistrates, and engineers through video conferences.
