Assam Governor Jagadish Mukhi on Monday inaugurated a national integration camp (NIC) of Bharat Scouts & Guides (BSG) in a glittering function at Jorhat Kachari Maidan here.

Clad in traditional wear, the Scouts & Guides from the 23 states of the country joined the inaugural event.

Governor Mukhi in his speech called upon the young boys and girls to follow the ideal of scouting and be ideal citizens of the country in future.

AK Absar Hazarika, the state chief commissioner, Bharat Scouts & Guides Assam delivered the welcome address and Amar B Chetry, Deputy Director, Boy programme, NHQ presented a short report of the National Integration camp. A cultural programme was presented by the participants to reflect the varied culture of their states.

A team (BSG) came from Jammu &Kashmir for the first time participated in the National Integration camp.

Qurat ul-ain, Muqadas Istigsaq, Mir Mantasha Ishfaq, Mus kaan Nasir, Mariya Gulzar, Anamta Javid, Afshana Hamid, Saniya Mushtaq, participated from two different schools of Sri Nagar International School and Haps School, Sri Nagar.
