Guwahati: Assam is facing flood threats in several regions, particularly in the Barak Valley, parts of Middle Assam, Dima Hasao, and Karbi Anglong, according to reports.
While one casualty has been reported in the past 24 hours, rescue teams are on high alert to manage any developing situations.

The district administration has ordered the closure of schools in Silchar (Cachar) due to rising water levels and potential flooding.

Similarly, in Nagaon district, at least 31 schools in flood-affected areas have been shut down as a precautionary measure.
An embankment breach of the Kapili River near Kampur in Nagaon has also been reported, indicating a possible worsening of the flood situation there.
According to an official ASDMA report, at least eight districts have been affected by the floods till May 29.
The affected districts include Cachar, Golaghat, Hailakandi, Hojai, Karbi Anglong, Karbi Anglong West, Karimganj, and Nagaon.
At least 41,719 people have been affected by the floods so far.
Six relief distribution camps have been set up so far with 155 inmates.
One person has been reported to have died in the flood in Karimganj but rescue teams are on watch to track any further hazards and prevent any more loss of lives.
