Assam: Two nabbed with illegal arms & ammo in Karbi Anglong

Guwahati: With Lok Sabha elections overhead, the police in Karbi Anglong, Assam nabbed two suspects with illegal firearms on Sunday.

As per police sources, the two were apprehended near Balijan area in Khatkhati.

Based on inputs, the police intercepted a vehicle bearing registration number AS26F5554.

On checking the suspected vehicle, the police found a 0.32 and a 0.22 calibre pistol, along with 13 rounds of ammunition.

On further checking the weapons, the police found that they were illegal and had no documents.

The two suspects were immediately detained by the police

They were identified as Sibiston Islary and Manajil Narzary.

Both the accused were residents of Chirang, Assam. 

The police have begun an investigation into the entire incident.
