Aizawl: Assam Rifles troops have apprehended seven individuals in possession of unaccounted cash totaling Myanmarese Kyat 4,79,55,000 along with Indian currency notes amounting to Rs. 2.86 lakh, officials said on Sunday.
The operation, conducted near RDS Bungtlang junction in the southernmost district of Mizoram, Lawngltai, was prompted by actionable intelligence, according to a statement released by Assam Rifles.
Additionally, a pickup truck utilized for transporting the currency notes was confiscated during the operation.
