Assam Mizoram: CID seizes Rs 6 crore worth of drugs, Myanmar national held

Guwahati: On Tuesday, the police in Assam conducted two separate operations resulting in the seizure of significant quantities of Yaba tablets and the arrest of several individuals.

The Government Railway Police (GRP) at Guwahati Railway Station apprehended a couple travelling from West Bengal. During a routine search, the police reportedly discovered 30,269 Yaba tablets in their possession.

The individuals, identified as Hakim Mandal (26) and Eyaran Bibi (25), were arrested and are currently under investigation.

The estimated street value of the seized drugs is being ascertained by the police.

In a separate operation conducted on Monday night in Hailakandi district, authorities seized approximately 5,600 Yaba tablets from two individuals apprehended during a police stop.

The individuals, identified as Kalamuddin Lashkar and Ashrafuddin Lashkar, were taken into custody.

Additionally, two motorcycles suspected to be linked to the distribution of the seized drugs were confiscated.
