Imphal: The Congress party has demanded a “White Paper” from the ruling BJP government over the nine-month-long ethnic violence in the Northeast state of Manipur.
Congress MP K Suresh, on Thursday (February 08), asked the government to come up with a “White Paper” on the ethnic violence in Manipur.
He said that the Christian missionaries and priests are facing threat with churches being vandalised in some states.
It may be mentioned here that over 200 people were killed during the course of the ethnic violence in Manipur in the past nine months.
Thousands of others were also displaced across Manipur in the violence and clashes that broke out between the Kukis and Meiteis.
Clashes between the Kukis and Meiteis in Manipur broke out on May 03 last year.
