Fifty-eight students have cracked the IIT JEE (Advanced) this year under Oil India Limited’s Super 30.

An OIL official said that this was a very encouraging result under the project, with 58 out of 149 students, who qualified for IIT JEE (Main), qualifying for the prestigious IIT JEE (Advanced).

“OIL Super 30, which is one of the most impactful CSR projects of Oil India Limited (OIL) in the domain of education, has once again attained success in its overall objective of transforming the lives of underprivileged students, from the marginalised sections of the society,” the official said.

The OIL Super 30 project is wholly supported by Oil India Limited, India’s second largest National Exploration and Production Company and is implemented by Centre for Social Responsibility and Leadership (CSRL), New Delhi, across six centres of Guwahati, Jorhat, Dibrugarh and Nagaon in Assam, Jodhpur in Rajasthan, and Itanagar in Arunachal Pradesh.

Today, the project has become a household name for the families, students and educationists, in the northeastern region, as one of the best known CSR initiatives of Oil India Limited (OIL).

The centre-wise results of the OIL Super 30 project for 2018, are: Jodhpur – 30 qualified Mains, 21 Advanced; Jorhat – 26 qualified Mains, 12 Advanced; Dibrugarh – 22 qualified Mains,  4 Advanced,  Guwahati – 26 qualified Mains, 9 Advanced; Itanagar – 7 qualified Advanced, 24 Mains. Nagaon – 21 qualified Mains and 5 Advanced.

Oil India Limited had instituted the CSR project, OIL Super 30, in 2010, with its first centre at Guwahati.

Under the project across six centres, each year, 180 students (30 students in each centre) of economically disadvantaged families are provided 11 months’ free residential coaching for IIT-JEE and other Engineering entrance examinations.

With the help received from the project, students have attained admissions in various prestigious Engineering institutes like IIT, ISRO, NIT, State Engineering colleges, etc. and in leading medical institutes, since 2011.
