A teenager was severely injured when he tried to jump off a running train on Monday evening at Hojai railway station.

The teenager identified as Barhanuddin (18) son of Hassan Raja of Ward No 5 of Doboka in Hojai District jumped off running train no.15903 Dibrugarh Chandigarh Express at around 4:35 PM.

The severely injured teenager was immediately admitted to a private hospital in Hojai.  But doctors attending the injured teenager referred him to GNRC, Guwahati because of his critical condition.

According to RPF sub inspector Panchu Ram Meena, the teenager was coming to Hojai from Dimapur. As the train had no stoppage at Hojai station he jumped off the running train.

Panchu Ram Meena has appealed to passengers to properly enquire about the stoppage before boarding a train to avoid such type of accident.
