Prism, the new political party in Mizoram, headed by RTI activist Vanlalruata has launched a crusade against the newly appointed Mizoram governor accusing him of violating the secularism embedded in the Indian Constitution.

Prism party appealed to all the NGOs, journalists and the joint platform of church leaders – Mizoram Kohhran Hruaitu Committee to join force with them in their tirade against the Mizoram governor, whom they alleged as persecutor of secularism in India.

“Kummanam Rajasekharan has participated and led Rastriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), Vishva Hindu Parishad (VHP) and the Hindu Aikya Vedi in an attempt to drive Christian missionaries out of Kerala since 1983,” Prism party alleged.

Prism party said Rajasekharan is a Hindu bigot, who has an ill reputation of harassing the secular identity of India and that he could pose a severe threat to the Christian population of Mizoram.

“He had incited Hindu extremists to rise against the Christians in Kerala. In 2003 he fabricated an attack on Joseph Cooper, an American Christian missionary working in Kerala. The missionary was seriously injured. With his comrade-in-arms he listed all the Christian missionaries working in Kerala and threatened them in his horrendous attempt to drive them out of Kerala,” Prism party alleged.

The party appealed to all the people of Mizoram, the larger NGOs and the church leaders to join hands for the sake of secularism in India and to drive the new governor Kummanam Rajasekharan out of Mizoram.
