Local Legislator of Hojai Constituency Shiladitya Deb along with Deputy Commissioner of Hojai District  Manvendra Pratap Singh formally inaugurated a yoga centre at New Market in Hojai on Sunday.

Speaking on the Occasion, MLA Shiladitya Deb said,” Today 185 Countries are eyeing India to learn the skills of yoga but our youth are busy Gymming.”

“Yoga is a free hand activity. It doesn’t need any equipment and can be learned without any expense.” Deb added.

He asserted, “No Politics should be done in the name of Yoga.”

DC Manvendra Pratap Singh said, “Assam Government last year announced to open 100 Yoga centres in several blocks in Assam as such two Yoga Centres were sanctioned for Hojai district as well, one in Dhalphukuri block of Hojai and Udali block in Lanka.”

“We were running the centre from Ram Krishna Mission but now we have opened a permanent premises.” he added.

He further said, “Our mind works as a Computer system, if we do yoga daily at least for 30 minutes our system will work smoothly.”

Earlier, K Zaman Choudhury Block Management  Committee Chairman briefly explained about the objective of centre and a short session of yoga was also organized where different asaanas and pranayams were demonstrated by the trainer.
