Angry over husband’s regular physical torture since the first day after her marriage, a woman chopped off her husband’s genitals on Friday night here. This shocking incident took place at Bahadurtari area of Dhubri town.
The woman, Momina Bibi, a resident of Amina Char of Dhubri district got married nearly eight months ago with Sofial Houqe of Bahadurtari area of Dhubri town alleged that her husband (Sofial Houqe) used to torture her regularly.
While the husband was asleep last night, the wife quietly tiptoed into the room and then proceeded to chop off his genitals, said victim (Husband).
She also tried to escape from the spot but on heard the incident, other members of the family awake and caught her and later handed over to Dhubri police.
Houqe was immediately taken to the Dhubri civil hospital as he was bleeding profusely. He is currently battling for his life in Dhubri Civil Hospital, police said, adding his condition is critical.
On basis of the complaint, police arrested the accused wife and a case under relevant section of the IPC has been registered against her. In a separate incident, a 30-year-old youth killed his mother at Kachukhana village under Dhubri district on late night of Friday.
Fulzan Bibi, 55, died on the spot when Sah Alom attacked his mother with sharp weapons. Locals have handed over the youth to police and demanded capital punishment against him.
